Grace United Methodist Church
Our Mission
Teach the Word, and make disciples, for today and tomorrow
At Grace Church, our faith is rooted in the enduring truths of Scripture, the historic teachings of the Church, and the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ. As part of the United Methodist tradition, we remain firmly committed to the timeless principles of our Wesleyan heritage. Below, we share some of our core beliefs that guide our life together:
Salvation Through Jesus Christ
We believe that salvation is a gift of grace offered by God and received through faith in Jesus Christ. Jesus, fully God and fully human, lived, died, and rose again so that we might be redeemed and reconciled to God. This message of hope is at the heart of all we do.
The Authority of Scripture
We affirm the Bible as the inspired Word of God and the foundation for our faith and practice. Through Scripture, God reveals His truth, His will, and His love for humanity. We faithfully uphold the teachings of the Old and New Testaments as unchanging and relevant for every generation.
Holiness of Life
We are called to pursue a life of personal and social holiness, empowered by the Holy Spirit. As John Wesley emphasized, we seek to grow in love of God and neighbor, embodying Christ’s example in our daily lives through prayer, service, and integrity.
The Great Commission
We are dedicated to the mission of making disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world. Through evangelism, discipleship, and acts of compassion, we seek to proclaim the Good News and extend God’s kingdom.
Grace Church Seattle is a vibrant, lay-led congregation dedicated to making disciples of Jesus and serving the city of Seattle. Our community is committed to living at the intersection of God’s grace and life in the city, creating small, warm, and welcoming space for everyone to experience authentic encounters with Christ.
